Mrs. Krawetz

My name is Jenn Krawetz (the w is pronounced like a v).  I am excited to be teaching Grade 1 at RancheView School and look forward to the opportunity to get to know my new students and their families.  What a unique opportunity for us to come together as we continue to form our school community! This will be a unique learning environment filled with exciting opportunities for students, families and staff.

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. Many memories of my childhood include playing school in our basement with my sister.  I couldn’t imagine spending my time elsewhere and since then my love of learning and working with people continues to grow.  I have spent all of my teaching career in Alberta with Rocky View Schools teaching Grades 4 and 2 in the communities of Conrich, Chestermere and Cochrane.  I am very excited to teach Grade 1 for the first time and plan to learn just as much from my little leaders as I hope they will learn from me!

The town of Cochrane holds a special place in my heart as my husband I and got married in the community in 2009.  I live in Northwest Calgary and appreciate being near the Rocky Mountains and having a close commute to work.  I greatly enjoy my time in the classroom and in my spare time I love to spend time with family and friends, work in the yard, golf, exercise, read, listen to music, watch “reality” television, movies, travel and do anything that involves creativity.

As a classroom teacher, I am aware of the diverse needs of my students and it is my goal to foster each of their individual learning styles.  My priority is to expose my students to a variety of learning opportunities and experiences, allowing them to develop an understanding for how they feel most engaged and successful.  When I provide my students with a variety of ways to achieve, they will feel prepared and confident in choosing their own learning path. I teach with commitment, thoughtfulness and passionwith the hope that my students too will become lifelong learners.

The partnership between home and school is a critical factor in your child’s success. I look forward to fostering open communication with you throughout your child’s school year.  Please use your child’s agenda as the primary form of communication between home and school (please initial every evening as it is checked at school each morning).  I am also available via telephone (403) 932-9811 and email (checked at the end of the school day). I also look forward to working with those of you that are interested in volunteering in our classroom or from home, further enriching ourRancheView School community.

I look forward to learning along with our 21st Century Learners and to the new opportunities, challenges and triumphs that will help us to prepare for our rapidly changing world.
