RancheView School is an allergy aware school so we are able to accommodate and support students with severe allergies. Families are asked to not send any food with peanuts, and tree nuts, because we have students with life threatening/anaphylactic allergies.
Rocky View Schools Allergy Procedure
RancheView will adhere to Rocky View Schools Administrative Procedure 316 (Administering Medication or Medical Treatment to Students)
Please see Appendix A – SEVERE ALLERGIES for specific information.
PLEASE NOTE: A severe allergy means a severe allergic reaction or anaphylactic response to an allergen, which if left untreated, can lead to sudden death.
At RancheView school we pride ourselves on providing students with a strong athletic program. Students are given the opportunity to participate in both competitive and non-competitive team sports throughout the school year.
Students compete in grade 6 competition, Junior A and Junior B. Only students in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to compete in Junior A/B. Junior B is less competitive in nature and cuts will not be made to these teams. Junior A competition is more competitive and coaches will hold tryouts and select the most skilled/athletic students for their teams.
All team members are representatives of our school and community, and as such, are expected to display mature, responsible behavior at all times. Inappropriate behavior will result in disciplinary action and possible dismissal from the team. Please review the Wrangler Code of Conduct for further details.

Practice schedules can be found on the school Google Calendar.

Families in need of a little financial boost to help get their kids involved in a sport, dance team, or other active program, can assess assistance through Jumpstart Charities – all they need to do is fill out an application. Applications need to be done before the fees are due, as the money goes right to the organization. Applications for assistance can typically be submitted from Jan. 15 to Nov. 1, with the goal for funding to be equitably distributed over Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter activities. To learn more go to jumpstart.canadiantire.ca or call 1-844-YES-PLAY.

We are a litter-less school and ask that everyone brings a boomerang lunch. This means that all potential garbage brought with snacks or lunch returns home, like a boomerang!
We will have recycling for paper, plastics and drink containers.
During lunch, all food and drinks will be consumed in the classroom.

For assistance with online registration please contact the school by phone 403.932.9811 or email at rancheview@rockyview.ab.ca

Instructions on setting up School Cash Online can be found here.
Q: Why does School Cash Online not recognize my child's ID number?
A: Your child has two ID numbers (Alberta Education and RVS ID number). The number to attach your child to your School Cash Online Account is the RSV number. It will be an 8 digit number starting with a 5 or a 5-digit number for people new to the area. The number can be found on the bottom of last year’s report. Please contact the office if you need further assistance.
Q: Why do I no longer see the item on School Cash Online?
A: Most items have an expiry date. Once that date is past it is no longer available to purchase.
Q: Can I still purchase items with cash or cheque?
A: Our goal is to reduce the amount of cash and cheques in the schools. Correct change is required as teachers do not have floats in their classrooms. Please ensure it is in a sealed envelope with the correct form.

School Council is a means for parent/guardians and community members to work together with the school to support and enhance student learning. School Councils are legislated through the School Act to act in a consultative capacity to advise the principal and the school Board respecting matters relating to the school.
The mandate and operation of the School Council is governed by rules and regulations contained within the School Act, School Councils Regulation, Rocky View Schools policies, as well as RancheView School Council Operating Procedures.
RancheView School Council Operating Procedures outline the rules around membership, governance structure, goals/purpose, meetings, voting, code of conduct and more.
These documents may change from time to time and can be found at:
RancheView School Council Operating Procedures
RancheView School Council values working as a team with parents, guardians, students and staff to combine our strengths for the development and support of learning opportunities and experiences. We work as an advocate for parent/caregivers and students by providing feedback to school administration in areas that affect our school community.
There are many reasons to join and participate in RancheView School Council. It is a great way to keep informed about what is happening at the school, support your child, get to know the community, and contribute.
Please consider sharing your voice by being part of this vital group of parent/guardians who share the common vision of supporting learning at RancheView School.
