Athletics

At RancheView school we pride ourselves on providing students with a strong athletic program. Students are given the opportunity to participate in both competitive and non-competitive team sports throughout the school year.

Students compete in grade 6 competition, Junior A and Junior B.  Only students in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to compete in Junior A/B. Junior B is less competitive in nature and cuts will not be made to these teams.  Junior A competition is more competitive and coaches will hold tryouts and select the most skilled/athletic students for their teams.

Student In-Good-Standing

At RancheView, participating in athletics is a privilege and not a right.  Students are expected to demonstrate kindness and respect when competing and practicing. Additionally, students are expected to be ‘in good standing’ in order to be eligible for selection.  Our ‘in good standing’ form can be found here.

Jumpstart

Families in need of a little financial boost to help get their kids involved in a sport, dance team, or other active program, can assess assistance through Jumpstart Charities – all they need to do is fill out an application. Applications need to be done before the fees are due, as the money goes right to the organization. Applications for assistance can typically be submitted from Jan. 15 to Nov. 1, with the goal for funding to be equitably distributed over Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter activities. To learn more go to jumpstart.canadiantire.ca or call 1-844-YES-PLAY.
