Mrs. Krawetz

My name is Jenn Krawetz (the w is pronounced like a v).  I have taught at RancheView since the school opened and I am excited to return to teaching Grade 1, learning and exploring with our little leaders as we navigate through many "firsts" together!

Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a teacher. Many memories of my childhood include playing school in our basement with my younger sister.  I couldn’t imagine spending my time elsewhere and since then my love of learning and working with people continues to grow.  I have spent all of my teaching career in Alberta with Rocky View Schools teaching grades 4, 2 and 1 in the communities of Conrich, Chestermere and Cochrane.

The town of Cochrane holds a special place in my heart as my husband I and got married in the community.  I live in NW Calgary and appreciate being close to the Rocky Mountains and the shorter commute to work.  I greatly enjoy my time in the classroom and in my spare time I love to be with family and friends, working in our yard, golfing, going for walks, reading, listening to music, watching movies or “reality” television, spending time at our cabin in British Columbia and traveling around the world.

As a teacher, I am aware of the diverse needs of my students and it is my goal to foster each of their individual learning styles as well as to create a safe and fun classroom community.  Students will be exposed to a variety of opportunities and experiences, allowing them to develop an understanding for how they feel most engaged and successful.  I believe that when I provide my students with a variety of ways to achieve, they will feel prepared and confident in choosing their own learning path. I teach with commitment, thoughtfulness and passion with the hope that my students too will develop their own personal love for learning.

The partnership between home and school is a critical factor in your child’s success. I look forward to fostering open communication with you throughout your child’s school year.  Please use your child’s agenda (provided on their first day) as the primary form of communication between home and school.  I am also available via telephone (403) 932-9811 (following school hours) and email jkrawetz@rockyview.ab.ca (checked at the end of the day and responsive within 24 hours). I am happy to welcome volunteer opportunities in our classroom/school or from home.

I look forward to learning alongside my students and working together as we face challenges and aim to experience triumphs, helping us all to prepare for our rapidly changing world.  I know that this year will be one to remember for us all!
