Mrs. MacDonald

Dear families,

Welcome to grade 2!  I am planning for and anticipating a year filled with challenge, learning and excitement.  This is going to be a fantastic year for young learners at RancheView to shine brightly in our classrooms.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child as we build on past successes and learn new things.  It will be a year of magic, wonder and amazing growth.

My name is Diamond MacDonald and I will be your child’s teacher this year.  This is my ninth-year teaching. I grew up in Alberta and out East. I have one young daughter and have completed my Masters Degree.

I believe that when a parent and teacher communicate regularly about (and with) a child, the child often has a happier, more successful school year.  With home and school working together, your child’s academic and social skills will become even stronger throughout the year.  I encourage you to contact me via telephone, e-mail or in person about any questions comments or concerns you or your family may have.  It is my hope that every family will write a short letter about their child, your hopes and dreams for them, their likes and dislikes, their family, and personality traits as well as anything else you think I should be aware of.  The more I know about your child the better I can effectively meet their needs in our classroom.

Throughout the year, I hope to discuss your child’s progress with you, what’s happening in our classroom; ways that you can support your child’s learning at home and ways that I can extend what you do at home in our classroom.

This will be an exciting year full of firsts and my goal is to make this year the best it can be for each student in the class.  I am looking forward to partnering with you on our wonderful grade 2 adventure as we make this year a fun learning experience for your child and your family.

Sincerely,

Ms. MacDonald
